Ricardo Ardila joined FIU on 2003 to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Throughout his undergraduate career he performed research in the field of Laser Hardening at the Center for Laser-based Manufacturing in Purdue, Indiana and he also conducted research in the area of aerodynamic optimization for SAE racing car components. He enrolled MAIDROC research group on 2007 and is currently completing a Master’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering at FIU. His current research work involves optimization, conjugate heat transfer and computational fluid dynamics.

Education:
  • M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Florida International University. 2009
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Florida International University. 2008
  • H.S. Calasanz de Medellin, Colombia, High school diploma, 2002

Areas of Interest:
    Current Work
  • Multi-objective optimization of 3D branching networks of micro-channels
